Dr. Muelhaupt completed his education at Virgina Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine and joined our team in July 2016. In addition to a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree, Dr. Muelhaupt is also finishing his Masters of Public Health for Infectious Diseases degree and has a special interest in zoonotic infectious diseases and helping to educate and protect the public. In veterinary medicine, he has interests in soft tissue and orthopedic surgery and ultrasound as well as exotics and pocket pets. He plans to pursue certification in these areas. He enjoys his career, particularly the opportunity to help the furry members of people’s families and educate and support them as he works closely with them for their animals’ care. Dr. Muelhaupt and his fiancée Katherine have a number of pets including an Akita named Hashi, a black lab named Rue, 2 cats named Baxter and Tot, and 4 chickens named Margaery, Ygritte, Brienne, and Nymeria. Dr. Muelhaupt is an avid outdoorsman who enjoys hiking, backpacking, kayaking, fishing, and more! He also plays guitar and used to be in a few bands.
